The Books
The Dark Barbarian originally published in 1984, is back in print as a trade paperback from Wildside Press. The Barbaric Triumph, the 2004 sequel to The Dark Barbarian, was published in both hardcover and trade paper from Wildside Press. Willeford, a 1997 biography of crime writer Charles Willeford published by Dennis McMillan (for the 2002 Left Coast Crime program book, Don wrote a memoir of Dennis. Either through chance or possible political correctness, some of his descriptions of the way Dennis talks were cut out—for the uncensored version, click on The Taw.) The Dashiell Hammett Tour (in various editions, the more recent the better) is currently out of print, but a thoroughly updated edition is set to appear soon from Vince Emery Books. Earlier editions can be found in used-book stores and via online search engines such as AddAll. The Literary World of San Francisco and Its Environs (City Lights editions 1990, 1985) is currently out of print, but is easily available in used-book stores and on bookstore web sites: here's a link to it on Addall.
